In this post I will detail the steps for the removal of a RD350 gas tank lock. I know this may be a no brainier, but I do like putting things up like this so if nothing else you can see the parts involved.
The first thing you want to do is to use a #2 Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw that is holding the lock to the gas tank. After removing that screw the lock assembly will pop right off as one single piece.
Next remove the “C” clip from the end of the rod that the gas cap latch is attached to and slowly push the rod through the latch. I have started this process in the image below.
Keep pulling the rod through the housing until the rod comes clear. Make sure to hold the latch while you are pulling the rod out because there is a spring that the rod runs through that gives the latch its return. Its a small spring so if it flies out you may not find it again.
It’s that simple.
